Outdoor STEM Explorers Club
A unique outdoor experience for participants grades K-6 that promotes the *enjoyment of the outdoors, *appreciation for our planet and *cultivation of our future generation’s social values and principles.
A unique outdoor experience for participants grades K-6 that promotes the *enjoyment of the outdoors, *appreciation for our planet and *cultivation of our future generation’s social values and principles.
Participants will engage in interactive, hands-on nature-based learning within the picturesque harbor and beach front of the Village of Port Jefferson and the sensory, native plant and rain gardens of the Long Island Explorium as their outdoor classrooms.
The club will be led by experienced educators with in-depth knowledge of environmental science and sustainability. They will be joined by special guest educator, Ms. Caran Markson, Port Jefferson Village Gardener and certified Master Gardener from Cornell Cooperative Extension.
We are excited to partner with Avalon Park and Gallery North for our Outdoor STEM Explorers Club program on Oct 16th and Oct 30th. Please note the change in location for these two dates.
Pre-registration is necessary. First come first serve. To ensure the health and safety of our staff and participants, we will implement a mask-on policy at all times for all participants.
This program is geared towards children Grades K - 6th. Drop off is allowed for children ages 7 and above. Children ages 6 and below must be accompanied by an adult.
You can choose to register for one or all sessions
Please be mindful that spots are limited. If for any reason you cannot attend, please let us know immediately so we can open up registration again to other interested parties.
Founded in 2005, the Long Island Explorium is committed to the development of programs and exhibits deeply rooted in research and evidence-based practice. Our programs are aligned with NYSSLS, ELA, Math and Social Studies Standards.
