A Special Event During the Port Jefferson Charles Dickens Festival
Step back in time and experience the magic of the Victorian era at the Long Island Explorium! As part of the Port Jefferson Charles Dickens Festival, we invite you and your family to craft your very own kaleidoscope in this unique hands-on activity.
What Awaits You:
- Create Your Own Kaleidoscope
Discover the science of light, reflection, and symmetry as you design and build a kaleidoscope to take home. - Learn the History
Explore the connection between kaleidoscopes, the Victorian world of Charles Dickens, and the innovative spirit of the 19th century.
Event Details:
- Dates: During the Port Jefferson Charles Dickens Festival, Saturday & Sunday, December 7th-8th
- Hours: During regular museum hours, 1 - 5 PM
- Admission: Museum Admission: $6 for children, $8 for adults
Add-On Kaleidoscope Activity: $5 per participant
Free Admission for SNAP/EBT Card Holders and Blue Star Families
PLUS, enjoy free popcorn and hot cocoa included with your museum admission!
