Teen Nights at the Long Island Explorium
February 27th, 2026
TEEN NIGHT AT THE LONG ISLAND EXPLORIUM
Ages: 11–15
Schedule: Last Friday of each month, 6:00–8:00 pm
Fee: $10 per participant
Capacity: 15 teens maximum
Food: Pizza, water, and soda provided
Teen Night at the Long Island Explorium is a monthly after-hours hangout created for pre-teens and teens ages 11–15. On the last Friday of each month, the museum becomes a relaxed, teen-only space where kids can unwind, see friends, and spend time their own way.
Teen Night is all about choice. Teens can jump into our optional monthly hands-on Maker activity, bring their own board games or card games, or simply hang out in cozy seating areas to read, talk, or decompress after a long week. There are no schedules to follow and no expectations to perform.
Each Teen Night includes an optional themed Maker Activity for teens who feel like creating something hands-on and taking it home. These activities are open-ended and stress-free, offering a creative outlet rather than a lesson. Participation is always optional.
With music, snacks, open space, and a supportive staff presence, Teen Night offers a safe, supervised environment that still gives teens independence and ownership of their time. Whether they come to create, play games, socialize, or simply relax, Teen Night is designed to be a positive space where teens can feel comfortable being themselves.

"Our daughter, age 7, participated in a recent STEM exercise via group ZOOM call. We really like how the teacher, challenged the children to think about the problem and alternative solutions. Amazingly well done, start to finish. If you are looking to add to your child's experience in science, this is it."
"My child is enjoying the program very much. For her it is something interesting to look forward aside her school work, in which she is losing interest now."
"So you definitely did something right in instilling a confidence and a desire for inquiry in them that I haven’t seen before. The experience definitely exposed them to something more than they would have had in their district and yes I teach science but what you did surpassed the standards. There is a silver lining in this storm of remote learning."
