Space Spectacular – Design and launch your own straw rockets!
Dates: September 8 & 14
Discover the wonders of space and put your rocket-making skills to the test! Led by our NASA-certified Solar System Ambassador, this session takes you on a journey through the cosmos. You’ll learn about the principles of rocket flight, trajectory, and propulsion before building and launching your very own straw rocket. This exciting hands-on experience is perfect for budding space explorers and curious minds alike!
Exploring Native Plants – Create beautiful leaf rubbings while learning about our environment
Dates: September 22 & 29
Join us for a creative and educational deep dive into the world of native plants! Using leaves from our on-site native plant garden, you’ll create unique leaf rubbings and learn all about the crucial role native plants play in sustaining ecosystems, conserving water, and supporting wildlife. As you craft, our gardening expert will share valuable insights on how these plants contribute to a healthy environment. It's a wonderful way to connect with nature and explore the beauty of our local flora!
How to Join the Fun:
Our museum is open from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and general admission is $6 per child and $8 per adult. To make the most of your visit, add the "Learn & Create" experience for just $5 per person!
Whether you’re a future rocket scientist or an aspiring environmentalist, these activities are designed to bring out the explorer in everyone. Come explore, learn, and create with us at the Long Island Explorium!
